It has been quite some time since I’ve blogged any weddings and that’s mostly due to a very busy season of weddings and time spent with my darling little children during school holidays. So it is high time I start some blogging, starting with my last wedding of last year, a Palala Game Reserve Wedding. It’s a beauty and it’s about time you get to see it.
Pierre and Katrina are two of our very best friends. Michael and I studied with Pierre in Johannesburg and he saw the spark (quite literally) that started our relationship over 12 years ago. We first met Katrina at our wedding nearly 8 years ago and have been great mates ever since. We were delighted to make the trip out to the African bush for their incredible wedding and our girls were very excited to be flower girls and share in the excitement of the big day.
Pierre’s family have a farm near the wedding venue and during the months leading up to the wedding Pierre’s Dad sadly passed away. This made the time spent on the farm and in South Africa for the wedding all the more special as we felt like his Dad was still a part of their big day. With Katrina’s family and friends flying in from the UK and a numbers of Pierre’s family and friends flying in from Germany, it made for quite an international party.
The very wonderful Damen Oosthuizen, a photographer from Cape Town made the trip up north with his gorgeous family to help me capture this day. Thank you so much for all your hard work on the day! So finally a great big thanks to both families for being so wonderful and welcoming and to Pierre and Katrina for a wedding Michael, Charlotte, Elizabeth and I will quite certainly never forget.
